About Sunnah

The word is used in more than one sense. For scholars of hadith it is what is reported from the Prophet, and for jurists it is also a ruling of recommended acts that are rewarded but not required. A confirmed sunnah, such as the regular prayers before and after the obligatory ones, is called sunnah mu'akkadah.
