About Hadith

The hadith are the second source of Islamic teaching after the Quran, and they explain and apply it. Scholars compiled them in collections such as Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim and developed careful methods to check the narrators and the text. Each report is judged by these methods and graded, for example as sahih, hasan or daif.
