About Sharia

In its original meaning the word refers to a path leading to water, and it describes guidance for life as a whole, not only punishments. Fiqh is the human scholarly effort to understand the sharia and apply it to particular cases. Scholars often describe its aims as the protection of religion, life, intellect, lineage and wealth.
