About Witr
Witr is prayed between Isha and Fajr, and most commonly ends with one or three rak'ahs. The schools differ on its status: the Hanafi school calls it wajib, while the others describe it as a strongly emphasised sunnah. Many Muslims recite a special supplication called qunut in it.
