About Jumu'ah

Friday is the weekly day of gathering in Islam, and a whole surah of the Quran is named Al-Jumu'ah. The prayer is led by an imam after a khutbah in two parts, and it is generally required of adult men who are residents and healthy. Many Muslims also read Surah Al-Kahf and send blessings on the Prophet on Fridays.
