About Hijri calendar
It has twelve months, beginning with Muharram, each of 29 or 30 days according to the moon, so the year is about eleven days shorter than the solar year. This is why Ramadan and Eid move through the seasons. Years are written with AH, from the Latin for the year of the Hijrah.
