About Haram

The prohibitions in the Quran and sunnah include shirk, murder, theft, usury (riba), and consuming what is clearly unlawful. Necessity can change the ruling in some circumstances, and Islamic law also pays attention to intention and ability. The word is also used for the sacred precinct of Makkah, which is called the Haram.
